My suggestions for the Pirate honor code:
1. Never use an alt for anything your main can't do because of his outlaw lifestyle.
2. Never suicide kill someone in empire.
3. Never pod someone without a reason, ransom their ship for the pirce of insurance before you ransom the pod. If you ransom the pod ddon'tt kill it if they pay.
4. give people a chance to drop their cargo if you're after a hauler whenever possible, scramble/web before you shoot.
5. Never log if someone comes to bring you to justice, by that you would encourage people to log when you want to shoot them down.
6. Keep a protection money list where people can pay a moderate amount and not be atacked for a week. Stick around in the same systems so someone who frequents those gates will acctually benefit from paying up. (Like 1 mil/week maybe).
Victims honor code:
1. Pay up if you're ransomed for a reasonable amount. Don't kill yourself just to spite the pirates.
2. If your ship is ransomed the price of insurance is a reasonable amount.
3. If your pod is ransomed you have to decide what your implants/life is worth at that point in time.
4. Don't log out if someone tries to kill you, by that you would encourage pirates to log if someone tries to hunt them down.
5. Never use an alt to scout around for pirates, you don't want them using alts to pawn your loot either.
6. Be nice to your killer, pirates that play by the honor code might still kill you, but if they did it's probaply your fault.
Well, feel free to add on to this or make suggestions what should be different about it. I don't really expect that the vast majority of pirates will adhere to this, because the ones that are honorable now don't need rules to know these things, but if we can agree on some basic things about wether a pirate is honorable or not I can walk around calling everyone who doesn't fit into that a cowardly puke without any doubt that they are
